| DEMOCRATS AND GUN CONTROL |
Excerpt from NRA-ILA bulletin:
At the time, Obama was a state senator in Illinois, where he supported increasing federal excise taxes on guns and ammunition by 500 percent, banning compact handguns, limiting the frequency of gun purchases, banning the sale of guns (except antiques) at gun shows, charging a person with a felony offense if his gun were stolen and used in a crime, prohibiting people under age 21 from possessing guns, increasing the gun dealer licensing fee, prohibiting dealers from conducting business at gun shows or within five miles of a school or park, and banning police agencies from selling old service firearms to generate funds to buy new firearms for their officers.
From 1998 to 2001, Obama was also a director of the Joyce Foundation, the largest provider of tax-free funds to anti-gun groups and causes in this country—$19 million, including $1.5 million to the ultra-radical Violence Policy Center during Joyce’s Obama years. Obama even considered becoming Joyce’s president, according to the Boston Globe.
To be fair, I should mention that Obama’s chief rival for the 2008 Democratic nomination, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., has a serious anti-gun record, as well. When she was First Lady, Clinton endorsed a 25 percent tax on handguns, an increase in the federal gun dealer license fee to $2,500, registration and licensing of handguns and their owners, and registration and licensing for all new owners of rifles and shotguns.

| THE TAX REBATE |
This is a great explanation of the tax rebate program recently enacted by Congress. If you don't understand how it will work maybe this explanation will help:
50,000 people went to a baseball game, but the game was rained out. A refund was then due to the ticket holders.
The team was about to mail refunds when a group of Congressional Democrats stopped them and suggested that they send out the ticket refunds based on the Democrat National Committee's interpretation of fairness.
Originally the refunds were to be paid based on the price each person had paid for the tickets. Unfortunately that meant most of the refund money would be going to the ticket holders that had purchased the most expensive tickets. This, according to the DNC, is considered totally unfair. A decision was then made to pay out the refunds in this manner:
People in the $10 seats will get back $15. After all, they have less money to spend on tickets to begin with. Call it an 'Earned Income Ticket Credit.' Persons 'earn' it by having few skills, poor work habits, and low ambition, thus keeping them at entry-level wages.
People in the $25 seats will get back $25, because it 'seems fair.'
People in the $50 seats will get back $1, because they already make a lot of money and don't need a refund. After all, if they can afford a $50 ticket, they must not be paying enough taxes.
People in the $75 luxury box seats will each have to pay an additional $25 because it's the 'right thing to do'.
People walking past the stadium that couldn't afford to buy a ticket for the game each will get a $10 refund, even though they didn't pay anything for the tickets. They need the most help. They are either lazy or think that society owes them for just being born. Sometimes this is known as Affirmative Action.
Now do you understand?

Nancy Pelosi or Senators Hillary Clinton or Barak Obama for assistance. |

| THE POPE'S VISIT |
We believe the media completely missed the reason why the Pope’s recent visit to the U.S. was so popular. Pope Benedict has undeniably indicated that he will lead the battle against a Muslim takeover and Muslim destruction of western civilization and culture. We believe the Pope has a longer perspective of history than the vast majority of leaders. He has indicated his leadership in opposition to radicals in the Muslim faith by such actions as the conversion to Catholicism of a leading Muslim politician in Italy. He has sent a message by allowing this to be given wide publicity. This was no “accident” and neither is the Pope’s choice of language in certain public pronouncements.
The Muslims are not at all missing what he is doing and saying! We believe his visit to the U.S. was so incredibly popular because people are, consciously and subconsciously, developing a fear of Muslim radicals and what they are up to. They see in the Pope a leader that can energize opposition to this trend and one who recognizes the danger to civilization. We don’t see this in the media or from politicians because they have been rendered deaf, dumb and blind by the current political naiveté and the need to bend over backwards in support of political correctness and its liberal fellow travelers! |

| THE CHOICE OF MCCAIN |
Voting Democrat to “change” things stands a good chance of leaving the country defenseless, destroying the Constitution and wiping out American culture. What a choice! The left wing liberals who control the Democrat Party are leaps ahead of the Republicans when it comes to organization, numbers and “conning” voters into thinking that their version of “change” is one we can all live with! People can see what a false assumption that is by just looking at what the current leaders of the House and Senate and their appointed Committee Chairs are advocating. Just listen carefully to what Barrack Obama and Hillary Clinton are saying they will do if elected and it should be enough to scare the daylights out of any citizen!
There are two big questions in this election. 1. Are people so sick of local Republican corruption, a do-nothing border policy and high gas prices that they are willing to vote for almost anything that represents a change? 2. Will people be convinced they should trash American culture by voting for a smooth talking candidate with a closet agenda who tells them nothing in order to buy their way out of a media defined racial “guilt trip.” Are people listening? It wouldn’t be the first time in history that a great nation collapsed from within because its people were sold a false bill of goods and, therefore, voted for “false prophets.”
So, that leaves those of us out here in the grass roots with a choice of corruption or destruction! The only answer, and it’s a tough one, is to take back the Republican Party and re-do its leadership and its values. Romney would have been a better guy to do that, in our opinion, but because we got “hung up” on the “Mormon thing,” became confused and came late to the table, we now have McCain. McCain’s reliance on Phil Gramm as an economic advisor could make seniors afraid they might lose their Social Security benefits or have them taxed into oblivion. That considered, as a friend wrote me the other day, “I love my country more than I dislike McCain!” |

| GASOLINE PRICES AROUND THE WORLD |
Below are the current prices of gasoline in a few countries around the world. Oil rich countries such as Saudi Arabia and Venezuela subsidize the price of gasoline for their citizens and the high price in many European countries is the result of heavy taxation on both producers and consumers. Should we here in the U.S. opt for the “European solution” to energy marketing, something liberals are not talking much about but that is most likely should they win more control of Congress and the White House, then it’s no secret that we will see energy prices escalating to near where European prices are right now.
We have chosen just a few countries around the world that may give you an idea of what consumers are having to pay for gasoline in those countries. All amounts have been converted to U.S. $ and to U.S. Gallons. If you care to check other locations world wide, click on the link at the end of the list.
